Dear compatriots:
Thirty five years ago, on February 17, 1979, China restlessly opened fire to attack along our entire northern borders, killing and injuring more than sixty thousands soldiers and civilians in our beloved fatherland of Vietnam in a short but deadly war.
This war, along with the invasion of the Paracel Islands in 1974, the Johnson South Reef Skirmish of 1988, and the groundless claim of the nine-dash line on the East Sea are parts of a Chinese conspiracy to conquer our Country.
In addition, China’s relentless encroachment of economy, culture and social manipulation is aimed to distract our attention from their intended ambition to gradually bring Vietnam into slavery for, and dependence on China. As a result, the state-run media rarely cover any historical conflicts with China. Thus, many Vietnamese often forget those memorable events in our modern history. Our national heroes - those who offered their lives selflessly for the Nation, our brave wounded soldiers and their suffering families have not received tributes and the honor they deserve.
History must be rightly respected. Those who lost and sacrificed their lives for the Country should be justly honored. And our people must be woken up to the facts of the conspiracy from the expansionist, hegemonic China.
Our dear compatriots:
Vietnam has many holidays. We have Teachers Day, Doctors Day, Liberation Day, Army Day, Police Day, etc., but we do not have a day to remind us about our sovereignty while our territories are slowly and dangerously bitten.
Therefore, we recommend adopting February 17th as Vietnam Border Day. We urge everyone to join the observation of the Vietnam Border Day to commemorate and honor the fallen heroes those who lost their lives to protect our homeland from Chinese invasion.
Time: Sunday morning, February 16, 2014, from 9 AM.
Location: At the monument of King Ly Thai To, Hoan Kiem Lake, Hanoi
We request the People's Committee of Hanoi and Hanoi Police to ensure safety for the ceremony. Other festivals, outdoor concerts or music, playing sports, and specially, construction works should not take place near the Hoan Kiem Lake. Finally, we urge police and other security forces not to cause any troubles to participants of this upcoming event.
Respectfully,
Brothers and sisters of No-U in Hanoi

China is the greedy tyrant, as large population and hungry,
China aims to invade further:
-The border of neighbors: India, Russia, and Vietnam.
-The sea: Japan, Philippine, Vietnam...the next victims are
Malaysia, Indonesia...and then China will be the boss of the Pacific Ocean.
The world should remember: DON'T TRUST what made in China.
We, the Vietnamese People, can never fight back Red China's invasion as long as the VC traitors are still in power. The Chinese Communists can kill our nationalism by ordering their slavish VC puppets to immediately put out any protest flames by the Vietnamese people.
In short, if we want to defend the external enemies, we must first get rid of our internal enemy, the VCs. There is no other way, my dear Vietnamese fellows.
Bravo, Senior!!!!!! Thanks for your clever feed back!!!! It (your comment) pointed out whom Vietnamese people should get rid of first (priority). So far, I did not see any awakened comments, but yours.

Feb 17, 1979 remembrance day, the day that Red China attacked and invaded our country, killed thousand Vietnamese people, occupied thousand kilometers of our land in border for their animal dream.
I hated Red China....... But let us look closely that invasion: what did the Vietnamese commie do to Kampuchia??? Why did Deng Xaoping declare to teach Vnam "a long memorized lesson"??? Please remember as I said in the beginning that I hated R. China, but we need to look entirely both sides to understand that attack( Feb. '79).
We are not here to analyze, we are here to remind everybody about the crimes of the invasion war of China that kills tens of thousands of our countrymen. This is a warning that they can do this again in the future if we don't know how to defend ourselves from today...
Are you sure before doing anything you never analyze or weigh between pros & cons, advantages & disadvantages of it??? This is an act of folllowers not leaders.
